I’m a BBC-trained freelance videographer based in London, with more than 15 years of experience filming for businesses, agencies, organisations and individuals. My specialisms include promotional videos, interview filming, event videography, documentary-style filming and short-form video content.

Working primarily as a solo videographer, I take a dedicated, hands-on approach to every project. By working closely with my clients, I take the time to understand what they want to achieve. The aim is always to find the best possible outcome from every shoot.

I can also edit the footage I film, giving me a complete understanding of the project from filming through to the finished video. Because I handle both stages, I can shoot with the final edit in mind. I know what footage, interviews and supporting material the finished film will need.

Good video starts with understanding what you want to achieve. Whether I’m filming an interview, an event, a promotional video or a documentary-style project, I focus on capturing natural, engaging footage that communicates the story clearly.

I take a thoughtful approach to every shoot. Close attention to the people, location, action and details helps bring the finished video to life. I’m always looking for opportunities to capture useful cutaways, natural moments and strong visual sequences rather than simply recording what happens in front of the camera.

Because I also edit the footage I film, I’m thinking about the finished video while I’m shooting. This means I know what the edit will need and can capture my coverage accordingly, helping to create a stronger, more coherent final film.

Being a good videographer is about more than operating a camera. I believe that being approachable, reliable and able to put people at ease is just as important. This is especially true when filming interviews or working with contributors who may not be accustomed to being on camera.

Throughout my career, I have filmed a wide range of people, including CEOs and senior leaders, artists and performers, directors, charity workers and volunteers. My experience also includes filming public figures and people from a wide range of backgrounds. I’ve also worked with creative agencies and production teams.

Good sound is just as important as good pictures, so I take care to capture clean, reliable audio using appropriate microphones and recording techniques. I also use professional lighting when needed, and I'm equally comfortable working with available light when that is the right approach.
