30 minutes on a locked-off camera. 20 seconds on screen.
Filmed at the top of Gummer’s How in the Lake District, with a wonderful view overlooking Lake Windermere.
Two fast jets passed close by during the filming.
During post-production, I used FrameFlex and Time Warp effects in Avid Media Composer. I sped the footage up to 42000% for the opening and down to 50% for the jets, with repositioning and a speed ramp between the two jet passes, ending at 9500%.
I used Frameflex to move the static frame from centre to left, then follow the jets, and finally move from centre to right.
I adjusted the 9:16 frame’s x and y position and set the frame size between 32% and 100% as needed.
With constantly changing light conditions, I used four different colour corrections across the 20-second sequence.
Filmed using a Lumix S1M2 with a 24-60mm in 5888 × 3312 50P.
