Commission overview
Output magazine commissioned me to film and edit this short promo for inkjet printer manufactures Screen. The aim of the project was to feature a commercial user of their printer explaining the benefits of a new Screen product.
In this promotional film, Best Digital explains how their W1632UVUK printer is helping them improve their profitability by being fast and efficient. Filming took place at the Best Digital production centre based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. I captured various shots of the printer in action and filmed a series of interviews with the team at Best Digital.
Editing
The footage was edited together back at my London base using Avid Media Composer. After transferring the filmed media onto my RAID 5 drives, I backed it all up to ensure project security. The first thing I do in a project like this is edit down the interviews to form a concise and informative sound bed that matches the brief. Once the interviews are finely edited I then edit in the visuals to match the points being discussed. When I am happy with the edit I sent my client an online link so that they can view it and suggest any feedback they may have. Finally, once any amends are edited and sign off achieved I encode the final edit as required and send a digital file to my client.
