Filmmaker skilled at storytelling, producing, filming and editing together compelling stories
I am a friendly and resourceful BBC-trained filmmaker with over fifteen years experience in professional video and film production. I bring passion, commitment and dedication to all of my commissions and enjoy working with clients to deliver stylish results on time and on budget.
Skilled and resourceful
As a filmmaker, I deliver short films that engage, promote, educate and entertain to all platforms from online through to network television. I have a positive can-do attitude and work efficiently on my own or as part of a team. I possess a natural talent and flair for producing, filming and editing together pictures, sound, and music to form a strong narrative. I offer a wide range of film and video production services from my Central London base in Lambeth SE11. My video production and filmmaking skills are available in the UK and Overseas.
Recent projects working as a filmmaker
A 13-minute film about their Short Breaks programme was funded by Watermans Arts Centre. Short Breaks helps provide support and learning for young people with learning difficulties and for their Carers. Watermans Arts Centre was looking to promote their good work and to secure further funding from Hounslow Council. I was commissioned by Digital Drama to film, sound record and edit the film for them.
Koestler Trust Mentoring Programme documentary
The film I made for the Koestler Trust Mentoring Programme was funded by The Cabinet Office. My 20-minute film explores how their arts-based mentors help ex-offenders by encouraging and developing their creative skills. The film illustrates the journey of a mentee just starting their programme through to a successful mentee who had attained a high level of skill with the guidance of a Koestler mentor. Filmed at a variety of UK locations over a 6-month period, the film includes interviews and filmed footage with three mentees, three mentors, a probation officer, a funder of a scholarship programme and prison-based art tutors. From the 20-minute film I then also edited a three-minute version for the Koestler Trust's website.
Charity film funded by the Arts Council
The Reader Organisation works with literature festivals across the country with their RISE (Reading in Secure Environments) programme. They commissioned me as a filmmaker to work with their team to produce an 8-minute film that was funded by Arts Council England. I filmed and sound recorded a series of interviews and actuality captured at various locations across the UK and then edited the film together at my base in London.
Funding film for the Carnival Arts Advocacy
I was commissioned as a filmmaker to produce, film and edit a 5-minute promotional film on behalf of the Arts Council-funded Carnival Arts Advocacy project. The aim of the film was to help their four cultural leaders across the UK to further promote and develop the UK wide Carnival Arts sector and therefore gain more financial security.
