Queer panel conversation

Posted in ,

Excerpts from the Rat Park queer panel conversation featuring Keith Jarrett, Jackson King and Ajamu X talking with Scottee hosting. With BSL signing.

Filmed at Rat Park number 3, which had the theme of ‘piss’. In the following days, I edited eleven 9:16 Instagram reels of up to 3 minutes each in duration from the three-camera 4K footage for Duckie’s Instagram and social media channels. I also edited a 14-minute mini-documentary film featuring content from all four programmes.

I wanted to post this more extended excerpt from the Rat Park queer panel conversation onto my portfolio as I found it educational and interesting to hear from three strong black creative queer men talking together.

The subjects addressed in this queer panel conversation include:

Talking openly about eroctica and upapologetic horniness.

Ajamu X talks about how important it is for him to have the support of his family and how this enables him to be so ‘out’ with his sexuality.

Discussing DL man and DL culture. DL is slang for down-low man. DL refers to men who identify as heterosexual but secretly engage in sexual activity with other men. They often avoid disclosing their same-sex activity.

Panel responses from the audience prompts.

Duckie produced four Rat Park programmes, each four hours long, that took place in London on four Saturdays in February.
