2014 showreel of favourite shots
To illustrate some of my early work as an observational filmmaker I edited together some of my favourite images into this short 2014 showreel. The visual theme for this 2014 showreel is ‘The journey so far”. All the footage in this promotional video was filmed around Britain, Spain and Switzerland.
Working as a filmmaker
One of the things I love about being an independent filmmaker is the range of different projects that I am commissioned for. I enjoy filming each and every new project on location and meeting and working with the diverse range of contributors that my short-form videos have encompassed. I also enjoy developing new creative relationships with individuals, community groups, charities and businesses. I continue to learn and gain new skills on every project that I am commissioned for.
Editing in London
Although I can and have edited on-location around Europe I much prefer editing back at my base in London. My very comfortable ergonomic workstation and edit suite set up makes it much more enjoyable for me to spend the hours any film or video production needs. I also have two 24″ NEC monitors which are a bit tricky to carry around then and expensive as baggage if flying. My London edit suite also has all the latest versions of any software I may need. I use Avid Media Composer to edit with. My edit suite is now connected to 1Gb/s full-fibre broadband so sending and receiving large digital files is very efficient. This helps me deliver fast turnaround projects quickly when needed.
Resourceful
Ex BBC and with over 15-years video and film production experience I am well trained and resourceful. Connected to a wider creative network I can help with larger and more complex film production projects if required.
